Jersey Winners - Day 2
Posted: 23 October 2007
In the true spirit of grand tour jersey wearers each of the riders who held the yellow, pink, green and polka dot jerseys did a great job on day two. Carla continued to climb like a genius, Graeme stayed strong for the whole day, and no doubt Bobby was playing up in the pack somewhere!
Sean Brophy will look great in green today as the ride group recognised the role he played in helping some of the riders through the tough sections of the day and was proud and honoured to receive the jersey. Dr Jeffrey Jankie has a great day in the Hills and was awarded the Polka Dot jersey for toughing it out. He went through some good and bad patches throughout the day but performed brilliantly and is a very deserving recipient of the Polka Dot jersey.
The Pink Jersey has been awarded to James Cheetham of Sydney. James broke his wheel during the day and got a little frustrated by it all and sent his bike sailing through the air when seeing what he had done to his wheel. We have fixed his bike for today but hIs little dummy spit resulted in the pink jersey for today!
The awarding of the Yellow Jersey was a unanimous decision and was awarded to Nicholas Dask from Melbourne. Nicholas is riding a flat bar hybrid bike that weights what three bikes would normally weight but is absolutely killing it. He is strong, has a constant smile on his face and is enjoying every minute of the Kilometres for Kid ride. It is great to see such a huge effort and enjoyment from the man in Yellow!
